I BELIEVE:
That there is always something to learn.
That I stand on the shoulders of those before me.
That I am here to contribute to the consciousness of us.
That we should stop looking for answers and create better questions.
That the best experiences and products arise out of diversity and collaboration. That the greatest technology is life itself and it leaves its marks in the narratives of our lives.
That what exists between us are powerful ingredients for transformation and development if we mine it properly.
That it is an incredible time to be alive and participate in the future of humanity.
I spent many years writing and directing films that have been selected to many Festivals around the world, including Cannes (BOY), Sundance (TRECE AÑOS, Laredo, Texas, {THE AND} Marcela & Rock), IDFA, SXSW and CINÉMA DU RÉEL.
In 2015 I produced an interactive documentary {THE AND} and won the Emmy for new approaches to documentary. {THE AND} grew to become a viral sensation, experienced by over 150 million people and continues to grow to this day through videos and interactive card decks.
I believe that asking the right questions can catalyze, challenge and shift the direction of our lives. We can see ourselves and our relationship to each other in new ways. We can dissolve barriers, break walls and feel connected with more intimacy and depth. Well constructed questions have the power to transform our sense of self, our relationships, and our society.
I’ve seen this magic unfold again and again in my work as the Founder and Executive Director of THE SKIN DEEP. We are an experience design studio that produces ambitious, groundbreaking projects across the globe.
We architect and deliver live and digital experiences that create spaces to explore and illustrate human relationships. We aim to amplify the transformative power of deeper human connection. Our work happens on stage, on screen and through people.
The culmination of my work over the past ten years with {THE AND} has been distilled down into a book titled 12 Questions for Love: A Guide to Intimate Conversations and Deeper Relationships; to be released January 2nd, 2024 with Penguin Random House.
My work continues in service of the transformative power of deeper human connection.
